Fake Soldiers In Full Uniforms Of The Indonesian Navy Arrested In Malacca Sari Duren Sawit

JAKARTA - A 24-year-old man named Arief Rahman Anang Saputra was arrested by Koramil 08 member Duren Sawit while wearing a complete Navy uniform in the Malaka Sari area, Duren Sawit, East Jakarta, Wednesday, August 27, 2025.

The arrests were made after Second Sergeant Wawan Setiawan received reports from residents who were worried about the presence of men in TNI uniforms several months ago. Residents even had time to send Arief's photos before he was arrested.

"Initially I got information from residents about someone who always wore a complete TNI uniform, but every time I looked for it, I never met him," said Wawan at Koramil 08 Duren Sawit.

The opportunity to arrest Arief came when Wawan was patrolling the neighborhood of RW 10 Kelurahan Malaka Sari. When he saw the officer, Arief looked nervous and tried to avoid it. "He immediately turned right, looked scared. I chased him, took him to the post, interrogated him, then we secured him to Koramil," explained Wawan.

During the examination, Arief admitted that he had registered as a member of the TNI several times but always failed. Allegedly due to frustration, he was desperate to wear his uncle's uniform for daily activities.

"I graduated from shipping schools, I have participated in the TNI test several times, but failed. There was no malicious intention, this uniform belongs to my uncle," said Arief.

When arrested, Arief carried various items in an army bag, including pants, jackets, watches, damaged airsoft guns, land certificates, wallets, and identity cards.

This case is now being handled by the Duren Sawit Police for further investigation.
