China Taipei Replaces Kuwait To Fight The Indonesian National Team On FIFA Matchday

PSSI officially announced China Taipei as the opponent to face on FIFA Matchday in September 2025. This decision came after Kuwait, which was previously scheduled to be the opponent, decided to withdraw unilaterally.

Information about China Taipei, which is the replacement for Kuwait, was announced by PSSI through the federation's official website on Wednesday, August 27, 2025. In that statement, PSSI also explained the details of the match schedule.

"The FIFA Matchday match against the Indonesian national team against Kuwait was forced not to take place because a sudden unilateral cancellation from the Kuwaiti FA through a letter to PSSI on August 21, 2025."

"Instead, the Garuda Squad is scheduled to face China Taipei and Lebanon at the Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium, Surabaya, on 5 and 9 September 2025," read PSSI's official statement.

With China Taipei present as the opponent, the September 2025 edition of the FIFA Matchday agenda will still be held twice. This agenda is the last means for the Red and White Team before appearing in the Fourth Round of the 2026 World Cup Qualification.

"These two matches are part of the preparation of the Indonesian national team ahead of the Fourth Round of the 2026 World Cup Qualification in the Asian Zone," PSSI wrote.

Because of the changes to the opponents faced, PSSI also provides an option to return tickets for those who are less pleasing. The reason is, the value of the match against Kuwait and China Taipei is considered different.

"PSSI also provides a refund option for Garuda Fans who want to cancel their presence. The refund submission process can be done via a link sent to the email address used during ticket purchase transactions."

"If you don't apply for a refund, the ticket will remain valid and there is no need for additional steps," wrote PSSI.
