South Manggarai Village Head Makes Car Destruction And Persecution Report, Police Conduct Investigation

South Manggarai Village Head, Tebet District, South Jakarta, Muhammad Sidik policed a number of demonstrations that carried out the persecution and destruction of official cars.

He and his driver Asep Yudiana were the target of the mass demonstration in front of the DPR on Monday (25/8) so that the official car he was traveling in was damaged.

Palmerah Police Chief Kompol Gomos Simamora said his party had received a report from the victim on Tuesday, August 26.

"Sudah buat LP kemarin sore di Polsek," kata Gomos kepada wartawan di Jakarta, Rabu.

According to him, the police report relates to the alleged beating. However, his party has not been able to convey in more detail the chronology of the incident because it is still being investigated.

"The suspicion is Article 170 of the Criminal Code. (Coronology) is investigated," said Gomos.

Based on the chronology received, at that time Sidik and his driver were riding a red plate service vehicle passing on Jalan KS. Tubun on Monday, August 25, at 18.30 WIB.

The South Manggarai village head returned from the kelurahan office to his house located in Tanah Abang Dalam.

As a result of bad road conditions, the two of them took the initiative to take shortcuts through Jalan S. Parman. However, when they arrived at the Slipi Roundabout, a number of people came and provoked them by calling the "car of members of the DPR".

In order to avoid the tantrums of the masses, both of them continued to drive the car, but the crowd became increasingly provoked and went berserk.

"I asked the driver to keep going but the crowd continued to chase while breaking the car window," said Sidik in his statement.

In fact, the driver hit a Siomay cart in front of the hotel in the Slipi area. However, the crowd continued to chase until the car finally stopped because it hit a motorbike.

For safety's sake, the driver asked Sidik to get out of the car.

Sidik followed the driver's orders and left while admitting to him from the village, but the crowd still beat him.

Not only that, the driver also experienced the same thing. The two then ran into an alley to save themselves.

Losses as a result of the incident, namely an official car was destroyed and two cellphones worth Rp. 25 million, wallets and personal items were lost in the car.

Until this news was revealed, Sidik and the driver survived, but suffered bruises, bruises and abrasions on the eyes, face, body, to legs from punches and blunt objects.
