Tomorrow, Tens Of Thousands Of Workers Will Take To The Streets With 6 Demands In Front Of The DPR RI Building

JAKARTA Tens of thousands of workers who are members of the Labor Union and Labor Party Coalition (KSP-PB), including the Confederation of Indonesian Trade Unions (KSPI), will hold a massive demonstration on Thursday, August 28, 2025. This action is centered in front of the DPR RI Building, Senayan, Jakarta, and will take place from 10.15 WIB until it is finished.

According to KSP-PB's official statement, thousands of workers from the Jabodetabek area will come to Jakarta to voice their demands, while the simultaneous action will also be held by tens of thousands of workers in various regions in Indonesia. This action will be led directly by the President of the Labor and KSPI Party, Said Iqbal, together with leaders of national trade unions.

The following are a number of demands:

1. Remove Outsourcing and Reject Cheap Wages (HOSTUM) Urge an increase in the minimum wage in 2026 by 8.5 to 10.5 percent.

2. Stop Layoffs Establish a Task Force (Satgas) for the handling of Termination of Employment (PHK).

3. Labor Tax Reform KSP-PB demands an increase in Non-Taxable Income (PTKP) to IDR 7.5 million per month, as well as the elimination of taxes on severance pay, holiday allowances (THR), Old Age Security (JHT), and tax discrimination against married women.

4. Sahkan RUU Ketenagakerjaan Tanpa Omnibuslaw menolak konsep Omnibuslaw dalam pembahasan aturan ketenagakerjaan.

5. Sahkan RUU Perampasan Asset Sebagai langkah untuk menantas korupsi secara tegas.

6. Revision of the Election Bill Urges the redesign of the electoral system for 2029.

The Coalition hopes that this action can attract the attention of the government and legislators to immediately respond to the demands of workers. KSP-PB emphasized that this step is a form of struggle to realize social justice and welfare for workers throughout Indonesia.
