The Former North Kolaka Regional Secretary Is A Suspect In The Corruption Fund For The An Nur Mosque Grant

The District Attorney (Kejari) of North Kolaka (Kolut) has named the former Regional Secretary (Sekda) of North Kolaka (Korut) as a suspect in the alleged corruption case of grant funds for the construction of the An Nur Mosque in Patikala Village, Tolala District, North Kolut Regency, Southeast Sulawesi (Sultra).

Head of the Special Crime Section (Kasi) of the North Kolut Kejari, Zul Kurniawan Akbar, said that the former Regional Secretary with the initials TS at that time also served as Head of the An Nur Mosque Development Team. In addition, TS, the North Kolut Kejari also named two other suspects, each with the initials M and T.

"The determination of the suspect was carried out after investigators found strong evidence related to the misuse of the budget sourced from the North Kolut Regional Government (Pemkab) grant for the 2021 and 2022 fiscal years," said Zul Kurniawan when contacted in Kendari, Antara, Wednesday, August 27.

Based on the results of the investigation, the North Kalimantan Kejari found state losses of around Rp. 1.05 billion, which led to the suspects, resulting in the construction of the mosque having to stop.

"We are still investigating this case, including tracing the potential for new suspects. We will examine all related parties," he said.

Zul Kurniawan revealed that currently the three suspects are undergoing further legal proceedings and in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

He emphasized that the entire legal process for taking action against corruption cases would be carried out professionally and transparently.

"We at the North Kolut Kejari will commit to complete this case and ensure that every rupiah of public funds is accounted for," he explained.

He added that to account for their actions, the suspects would be charged with Article 2 paragraph (1) and Article 3 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) 1 of the Criminal Code with a minimum penalty of 1 year to a maximum of 15 years in prison.
