Drivers Complain About Congestion In Cawang Impact Of PAM Jaya Project
JAKARTA - Along the DI Panjaitan Road, towards Tanjung Priok, Cawang, East Jakarta, there was a long traffic jam due to the excavation project on the road.
From VOI's observation, almost half of the roads were closed by zinc in the form of squares as partitions for the excavation project.
This condition makes the vehicle lane narrow, so that four-wheeled and two-wheeled vehicles passing must take turns in line.
In fact, the long traffic jam occurred starting around TL PGC Cililitan to the direction of TL Penas. Two public roads leading to North Jakarta have long queues of vehicles.
This congestion condition was also complained by a number of four-wheeled and two-wheeled riders who passed by the location.
Roy Mario, a private worker from Depok, West Java, was caught in a severe traffic jam on Jalan DI Panjaitan, Cawang, East Jakarta.
Roy was annoyed with the current congestion conditions, because of the impact of the excavation project allegedly belonging to PAM Jaya.
"The traffic jam was long because there were several pairs of sizes that were quite large, even the width of it took half the road on Jalan DI Panjaitan, causing the vehicle to stall," Roy told VOI, Wednesday, August 27, 2025.

Roy said, if there were no excavation and partner projects that would close the road, the area would also experience long traffic jams.
"In fact, there is this partner, the traffic jam is added. Earlier, it was stuck in traffic there for about half an hour," he said.
Roy admitted, usually the distance to cross Jalan DI Panjaitan Cawang from the PGC direction towards Tanjung Priok is only enough for 10 minutes. Even though they are queuing because of traffic jams, vehicle congestion is still flowing smoothly.
"Four-wheeled vehicles will be more difficult through the route here. Indeed, there is an inscription 'sorry' (related to project work), but that is not a solution for motorists," he said.
Roy hopes that the existence of the partner who ate the half-shoulder of the road will be dismantled because it causes long traffic jams.
"If you can, just dismantle it when there is no work. I don't think there is any more work," he hoped.
"There must be certainty when the project will start, when it will be completed, the important thing is that there is certainty. If this is not clear, the project will run or not. This is PAM Jaya excavation, I think," he added.
