Unram Student Found Dead Face Down on the Beach, Police Intervene

MATARAM - Police are investigating the case of a Mataram University student with the initials MV (19) who was found dead face down on the coast of Nipah Beach, Malaka Village, North Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara.

Pemenang Police Chief, AKP Henni Andriani, confirmed the discovery of the woman's body, who was reportedly from Mataram City.

"Yes, that's right. We're still investigating," she said by phone in Mataram, Antara reported, Wednesday, August 27.

This discovery went viral on social media. A photo also appeared showing a man crouching next to the body on the beach.

The man, reportedly an associate of MW, has the initials RA. The photo shows RA's head with a wound believed to be from a blow. The latest information is that RA is still alive.

According to field information, the two are suspected to have been victims of a robbery. Police have not yet been able to confirm the alleged crime.

However, RA, who survived, has confirmed the robbery. He said two perpetrators attacked him that night.

One of the perpetrators hit him with a piece of wood, knocking him unconscious. Police initially suspect the two were victims of a robbery accompanied by violence.

Evidence, including the motorcycle the victim was riding, has been secured at the Pemenang Police Station. RA is currently being treated at the Bhayangkara Mataram Hospital for further treatment.
