Just Released, This Huawei Cheap Electric Car Sells 50,000 Units In 18 Hours
JAKARTA - The Shangjie H5 SUV in Huawei and SAIC collaboration was selling well in China on the first day of launch. Not even one day after launch, this vehicle has booked more than 50,000 orders in just 18 hours, making it one of the best-selling EVs in its segment.
Citing CarNewsChina, Wednesday, August 27, Shangjie H5 was first introduced on August 25 at the HarmonyOS Smart Mobility Autumn New Product Launch Event. The market response was extraordinary. HarmonyOS Intelligent Mobility Alliance (HIMA) reported that 25,000 initial orders had been achieved in just one hour after the booking opened. This figure jumped sharply to reach more than 50,000 units on August 26, just 18 hours later.
This success cannot be separated from the specifications offered. As a mid-size SUV, Shangjie H5 has a dimensions of 4780mm long, 1910mm wide, and 1664mm high, with a wheelbase of 2840mm. This vehicle offers two choices of engines, namely Extended Range Electric Vehicle (EREV) and Pure Electric Vehicle (PEV).

The EREV variant has a combined cruising range of up to 1,360 km of CLTC with a fuel consumption of 4.44 liters per 100 km. Meanwhile, the BEV variant offers up to 655 km of CLTC cruise power with electricity consumption of only 13.4 kWh per 100 km.
One of the most prominent features is the integration of the Huawei ADS 4 driver assistance system. This is the first time this sophisticated system has been embedded in the HarmonyOS Intelligent Mobility model for under 200,000 yuan (approximately IDR 457 million).
Shangjie H5's official launch is scheduled for September 23, but this fantastic pre-order data has become a strong indication that this vehicle will become one of the key players in the EV market, especially in the more affordable segment.
