Allegedly Using Groundwater, The Ice Crystal Factory In Depok Was Sealed
DEPOK - The Environmental and Hygiene Service (DLHK) of Depok City, West Java, sealed two ground wells of PT Crystal Gemilang after inspection and found a violation of the rules in the form of using groundwater to produce crystal ice.
"We found two groundwater wells that have the potential to be used as production raw materials. For this reason, we are temporarily locking them so that they cannot be used, until the entire process of clarification and verification is complete," said Depok City DLHK Secretary, Reni Siti Nuraeni, quoted by ANTARA, during an inspection following complaints from the public regarding the use of groundwater sources for crystal ice production so as not to violate the rules.
He said inspections were carried out to ensure that the water sources used by the company were in accordance with applicable regulations.
"From the results of the check, crystal ice does use water from PDAM, however, we also found that there are two groundwater wells in this industrial area," he said.
Reni said, from the results of the examination there were indications of using groundwater for production needs. This raises concerns because it is not in accordance with the applicable permits.
