British Political Parties Plan To Revoke Human Rights Law In Order To Deport Mass Migrants
JAKARTA - The political party (parpol) Reform UK plans to revoke the human rights law (HAM) to allow mass deportation of asylum seekers or migrants from the UK.
Nigel Farage, chairman of the UK's anti-migration Reform Party, said there had been "invasion" that threatened national security regarding the large number of migrants in the UK.
"The mood in this country regarding this issue is a combination of total despair and increased anger," Farage told a news conference on Tuesday, August 26, quoted by Reuters.
"This is an invasion, because these young people illegally enter our country," he continued.
The announcement comes amid a small-scale anti-migrant demonstration in recent weeks outside hotels hosting asylum seekers in the UK.
The demonstration was also in response to concerns over public safety in Britain after several migrant individuals were charged with sexual assault in Essex.
Polls show that immigration has surpassed the economy as Britain's biggest concern. UK reform which only has four lawmakers but excels in each voter's intention survey 'continues to pressure British Prime Minister from the Labor Party, Keir Starmer, to address the issue.
In 2024, England set a record for accepting 108,100 asylum applicants, nearly 20 percent more than the previous year.
Many asylum seekers come from Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran, and Bangladesh.
