Digital Transformation, Luhut Said The OSS System Will Use AI

JAKARTA - Presidential Special Advisor for Digitalization and Government Technology, as well as Chairman of the National Economic Council Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan revealed that the government is accelerating the process of digitizing public services, one of which is the application of artificial intelligence (AI) technology.

Luhut said that the use of AI will be integrated into the Online Single Submission (OSS) licensing system managed by the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) and has coordinated directly with the Minister of Investment and Downstreaming / Head of BKPM Rosan Roeslani.

"One thing that has been running soon, has also coordinated with the Ministry of Investment is AI-based OSS. With this AI-based OSS, we can do all the licensing process with Mr. Rosan at length, we can do it in the future," said Luhut at his office, Tuesday, August 26.

As Chair of the Government's Digital Transformation Acceleration Committee, Luhut has the mandate to encourage the acceleration of digital transformation within the government and has formed a small team to formulate the right digitalization implementation strategy.

The Committee's agenda will be focused on three main use cases, namely digitizing social assistance programs, digitizing business licensing, and increasing the integration of the Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) component.

In its implementation, Luhut emphasized the importance of prudence in data management and ensured that all national data would be managed safely and remain in the country.

In addition, he said that the Committee would also hold monthly routine meetings to monitor program developments and ensure real results were achieved.

Luhut juga mengungkapkan terdapat rencana pelaksanaan proyek percontohan (pilot project) sistem pemerintahan digital dalam program bantuan sosial.

Dia menambahkan, proyek percontohan ini dijadwalkan mulai berjalan pada minggu ketiga bulan September 2025 dan Presiden Prabowo Subianto dikabarkan berencana hadir langsung untuk memantau pelaksanaan program tersebut.

"Nanti bulan September, minggu ketiga kita sudah melakukan piloting. Pilot project di Banyuwangi dan Presiden akan datang sendiri dan sekarang sudah kita siapkan berapa bulan ini Banyuwangi," ujarnya.

Luhut also revealed that there is a plan to implement a pilot project (pilot project) for the digital government system in the social assistance program.

He added that this pilot project is scheduled to start running in the third week of September 2025 and President Prabowo Subianto is reportedly planning to attend directly to monitor the implementation of the program.

"In September, in the third week we will pilot. The pilot project in Banyuwangi and the President will come alone and now we have prepared how many months Banyuwangi," he said.
