Inaugurating RSPON Neuroscience Institute, Prabowo: Not Just A Hospital, But A Research Center
President Prabowo Subianto inaugurated the Integrated Service Building and the National Neuroscience Institute at the National Brain Center Hospital (RSPON) Mahar Mardjono, Jakarta, Tuesday, August 26.
In his remarks, the Head of State said that hospitals not only function as health care centers, but also as educational and research containers, especially for specialist doctors in the field of nerves and brains.
"This hospital is not only a place of service, but also an education and research center. I have a special pride because I happened to know Prof. Mahar Mardjono," Prabowo said before inaugurating the new building, quoted by Antara.
Presiden Prabowo berharap kehadiran RS terpadu dapat mengatasi persoalan kekurangan dokter, spesialis, dan tenaga rehabilisasi yang saat ini umum terjadi di seluruh dunia, termasuk di Eropa dan Amerika.
Therefore, he emphasized the need for hard work and the use of all the capabilities of the nation to realize the best health services for all Indonesian people.

On the same occasion, Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin in his report said that RSPON Mahar Mardjono had three main tasks.
First, providing the best health services in order to be able to become a reference not only for the people of Indonesia, but also for international patients.
Second, developing research and education in the field of neuroscience with the support of international cooperation, including with the United States National Institute of Health (NIH).
"The third task is that this hospital must also be qualified so that its knowledge is not only held in Jakarta, but also spreads to 34 provinces and 514 regencies/cities," explained Minister of Health Budi.
With this inauguration, the government hopes that RSPON Mahar Mardjono will further strengthen his role as a national center of service, research, and neuroscience education, as well as be able to produce new breakthroughs in handling neurological and brain diseases.
Also attending the event were a number of members of the Red and White Cabinet, including Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani, Minister of Education and Technology Brian Yuliarto, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, AM Hendropriyono to businessman Chairul Tanjung.
