Not Yet Had Transactions, 3 Perpetrators Who Printed Fake Money In Pontianak Were Arrested By The Police
PolNTIANAK - The Criminal Investigation Unit (Satreskrim) of the Pontianak Police, West Kalimantan (West Kalimantan), arrested three suspects who made counterfeit money by confiscating hundreds of counterfeit bills of various denominations.
"The disclosure began with public information about the existence of counterfeit money manufacturing and storage activities in the Jalan Tritura area, East Pontianak District, recently," said Head of the Pontianak Police Satreskrim Economics, Iptu Muhammad Ibnu Saputra Budhiniar in Pontianak, Antara, Tuesday, August 26.
After a search, his party was able to arrest and confiscate evidence in the form of counterfeit rupiah denominations of Rp100,000 as many as 304 pieces and Rp50,000 denominations as many as 246 pieces.
The suspects with the initials JW (30), V (25), and EY (45) are suspected of producing the counterfeit money by scanning the original Rp100,000 denomination and Rp50,000 using a color scanner, then printing it on an F4-sized paper and cutting it according to the original money size.
"The production process they carried out for about a week. The counterfeit money is planned to be used for buying and selling transactions, but it has not been circulated because the officers first secured it," said Ibnu.
From the hands of the perpetrators, the police also secured a number of pieces of evidence, including one unit of the Epson L3210 printer, scissors, cutters, glue, ruler, stamps, two cell phones, and hundreds of counterfeit bills that had been printed or were still in the form of printed sheets.
The three suspects were charged with Article 26 paragraph (1) of Law Number 7 of 2011 concerning Currency, with a maximum imprisonment of 10 years or a maximum fine of IDR 10 billion.
