Governor Koster: COVID-19 Cases In Bali Decrease, Vaccination Accelerated

DENPASAR - Bali Governor Wayan Koster explains the development of COVID-19 cases. According to him, cases of COVID-19 in Bali tend to decrease.

"It can be seen from the emergence of new cases tend to decrease, on average as many as 146 new cases of COVID-19. Then, accumulatively the number of COVID-19 cases in Bali has reached 45,832 people," Koster said in his written statement, Tuesday, May 11.

Meanwhile, the recovery rate of COVID-19 patients has increased to 43,295 people or 94.46 percent, above the national average of 91.62 percent.

Then, the death rate tends to decrease to 1,414 people or 3.09 percent, but still above the national average of 2.75 percent.

Meanwhile, the cumulative number of active cases reached 1,123 people or 2.45 percent below the national average of 5.63 percent.

"There are 5 areas whose cases are still relatively high, namely, Denpasar City, Badung Regency, Buleleng Regency, Gianyar Regency and Tabanan Regency," he added.

In addition, to increase immunity of the community and prevent transmission and the emergence of new cases of COVID-19, the Provincial Government of Bali accelerated vaccination programs based on banjar or environmental throughout the District and City in Bali.

Governor Koster also coordinated intensively with the Minister of Health so that Bali obtained an increasing number of doses of vaccines.

The number of people who have participated in the vaccination program in Bali reached 1,268,115. While the areas that get priority vaccination program sequentially according to the number of doses of vaccines given, in all districts and cities in Bali.

In addition, Koster said Bali will get an additional vaccine of about 500 thousand doses in the third week of May.

"In accordance with the target of 3 million or 70 percent of people can already follow the vaccination program to achieve herd immunity," koster said.
