Giving Tax Discounts Up To 50 Percent, Pramono Is Not Worried About The Boncos Regional Budget

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung issued a discount policy on certain goods and services taxes (PBJT) specifically for the hotel and food and drinks sectors of up to 50 percent.

Pramono previously also gave a 50-80 percent fuel tax discount, as well as motor vehicle tax bleaching until August 31, 2025.

Pramono admitted that he was not worried that the reduced tax revenue from this discount would make the regional budget (APBD) deficit.

"Oh, by itself (tax revenue remains optimal). We will definitely calculate this carefully. It is impossible for me to make a governor's decision without careful consideration," Pramono told reporters, Tuesday, August 26.

The former Cabinet Secretary explained that the reason for this tax discount was given was because the percentage of tax revenues in Jakarta per July-August was quite high. In fact, it reached 14-15 percent of the national sector.

"So we see that it's not only enough, but it's not good if Jakarta then has a bigger tax. Even though the tariff has not changed at all. Indeed, the tax system in Jakarta is relatively good," said Pramono.

Pramono admitted that the level of tax compliance collected from business actors in Jakarta was quite high. However, this did not dampen his intention to provide incentives to taxpayers.

"Not all of them who have a high level of payment then we don't provide incentives for it. Because seeing that payments in Jakarta are now quite good, I even provide incentives," he explained.

For information, the tax discount given is 50 percent for the hotel sector and is valid until September.

Then, from September to December 2025, hotel taxes are still given a discount of 20 percent.

Meanwhile, the 20 percent reduction in food and beverage taxes will take effect from this month until December 2025.
