2025 World Championships: Gregoria Wins Easily In The First Round
JAKARTA The women's singles Gregoria Mariska Tunjung secured an easy victory in the first round of the 2025 Badminton World Championship or the 2025 BWF World Championship.
He kept his hopes of repatriating Petra Maixnerova from the Czech Republic in two games 21-10 and 21-9 at the Adidas Arena, Paris, France, on Monday, August 25, 2025, WIB night.
Gregoria, who won the bronze medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics last year, said that usually all tournaments, he still needed field adjustments in the first match.
"I played pretty well. For the shuttlecock, the field and the atmosphere of the field were similar to last year at the Olympics and the weather was the same," said Gregoria.

Gregoria is the first representative of Indonesia to secure victory in Paris this year. He will then meet Julie Dawall Jakobsen (Denmark).
This is their third clash in a competitive arena. Gregoria, seventh seed at the 2025 World Championships, previously won their two meetings at the 2018 Orleans Masters and Denmark Open 2021.
"For the next match, I want to have more motivation and whoever the opponent is, basically I will do my best," said Gregoria.
From the women's singles sector, Gregoria left for Paris with Putri Kusuma Wardani. The new princess will play on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, against Lo Sin Yan Happy (Hong Kong).
Indonesian women's singles are the sector that has been fasting the gold medal at the World Championships since Susi Susanti managed to climb the highest podium in the 1993 edition in Birmingham.
