JAKARTA - Passengers at Surabaya Juanda International Airport are observed to be quiet on H-2 ahead of Lebaran 2021 or Tuesday following the implementation of the ban on homecoming by the government since May 6, 2021.
"In the pre-homecoming period the average number of passengers per day reached 16-17 thousand. While in the homecoming period that has been running for several days on average there are only about 1,600 passengers per day," said Legal and Communications Section Head of PT Angkasa Pura I Juanda Surabaya Yuristo Adhi in Sidoarjo, East Java, quoted from Antara, Tuesday, May 11.
He appealed to prospective service users at Juanda International Airport, if there is no urgent need to temporarily stay at home to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
"No homecoming for a better Indonesia," he said.
According to him, everyone who uses flight services in the homecoming period must meet the conditions set out in the SE Task Force COVID and regulation of the Minister of Transportation.
"The goal is not for homecoming but for the urgent needs and needs set out in those regulations," he said.
From the data available, on May 10, 2021 or H-3 Lebaran, the number of passengers for departure at Juanda Airport as many as 304 people. Then for the arrival of 928 people so a total of 1,232 people.
"This number is down 17 percent compared to the same period in 2020 and then as many as 1,487 people. Similarly, aircraft movement also decreased by 15 percent from 41 aircraft in H-3 2020 to 35 aircraft in 2021," he said.
