Residents Raid Motorcycle Theft Headquarters in Ciracas Following Brawl Arrest
JAKARTA - Residents near the Waru Reservoir, RT 19/06, Rambutan Village, Ciracas, East Jakarta, were shocked by the raid on a motorcycle theft den on Sunday, August 24, 2025.
The head of RT 19, Supangat, said he only learned about the incident when police came to his house to request assistance to the location.
"I was still sleeping, but the members woke me up. It's our duty as elders in the neighborhood," he said on Monday.
The rented house where the raid took place was immediately cordoned off by police. The iron gate was tightly closed, and the area appeared deserted. Residents chose not to leave their homes.
The raid began with the arrest of a teenager suspected of planning a brawl. During questioning, police found a T-shaped key in his bag. This evidence is a strong clue, as it is often used in motorcycle thefts.
"We even found sharp weapons," Supangat added.
Police then searched the perpetrator's rented house and found around seven motorcycles, several keys, and numerous license plates. The motorcycles were immediately secured and transported by truck.
Previously, a video of the raid went viral on social media via the Instagram account @cibuburupdate.id. The post showed members of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police's Precision Pioneer Team transporting the stolen motorcycles, most of which were described as Honda Beats.
