President Prabowo Awards Mahaputera Star to Foreign Ministers Sugiono and Dino Patti Djalal
JAKARTA - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto awarded the Bintang Mahaputera Medal to Foreign Minister Sugiono and several diplomats, including former foreign ministers and deputy foreign ministers.
The President's Military Secretary, Major General Kosasih, read out the Presidential Decree. The award was based on Presidential Decree No. 73, 74, 75, 76, 77, and 78 of 2025 concerning the Award of Honorary Medals.
Those awarded the Bintang Mahaputera by President Prabowo were:
1. Raden Mohammad Marty Muliana Natalegawa, diplomat and foreign minister in the Second United Indonesia Cabinet, was awarded the Bintang Mahaputera Adipurna Medal for his services in international diplomacy, his successful leadership of the 2011 ASEAN Chairmanship, his peaceful diplomacy in Myanmar, and Indonesia's active role in the UN Security Council.
2. Retno Lestari Priansari Marsudi, diplomat and Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Working Cabinet and the Indonesia Onward Cabinet, was awarded the Bintang Mahaputera Adipurna for her services in international diplomacy through Indonesian diplomatic leadership on the Palestine issue, the Myanmar crisis, and the protection of Indonesian citizens abroad.
3. Noer Hassan Wirajuda, diplomat and Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Gotong Royong Cabinet and the United Indonesia Cabinet, was awarded the Bintang Mahaputera Adipurna for his services in the field of independent and active international diplomacy, the establishment of the Bali Democracy Forum, and strengthening Indonesia's role in ASEAN.
4. Dino Patti Djalal, diplomat and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Second United Indonesia Cabinet, was awarded the Bintang Mahaputera Adipradana for his services in diplomacy and international relations through his roles as a diplomat, promoter of the Indonesian diaspora, and founder of the Foreign Policy Community of Indonesia.
5. Sugiono, Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Red and White Cabinet, was awarded the Bintang Mahaputera Utama for his services in international diplomacy, strengthening independent and active policies, expanding bilateral and multilateral cooperation, and protecting the interests of Indonesian citizens abroad.
