My Daughter is a Zombie Reaches 5 Million Viewers, Highest-Grossing Film in Korea!

JAKARTA - The film "My Daughter is a Zombie" continues to dominate cinemas in South Korea. In less than a month, the film has reached 5 million moviegoers since its release in late July.

The Korean Film Council announced, "The film 'My Daughter is a Zombie' has reached 5,001,680 million moviegoers. The film was first released on July 30, meaning it took only 26 days to reach 5 million moviegoers."

"My Daughter is a Zombie" added a new record after achieving the highest opening-day figure, surpassing the film "F1."

It also became the first film in 2025 to reach five million moviegoers. This achievement was last achieved by "I, The Executioner" in September 2024.

Directed by Pil Gam Sung, the film also held the number one spot at the South Korean box office for 23 days, making reaching five million moviegoers a seemingly smooth journey.

Several Korean films that reached the million-view mark this year include Yadang: The Snitch with 3.3 million viewers, Hitman 2 with 2.5 million viewers, The Match with 2.1 million viewers, Noise with 1.7 million viewers, Dark Nuns with 1.6 million viewers, and Omniscient Reader with 1 million viewers.

The cast of "My Daughter is a Zombie" celebrated the milestone by writing messages to viewers expressing their gratitude.

"My Daughter is a Zombie" is a comedy about a father trying to keep his daughter's zombie transformation a secret, while the epidemic continues and she becomes the last zombie.

The film stars Jo Jung Suk as Jung Hwan and Soo Ah (Choi Yu Ri). It also stars Cho Yeo Jeong, Lee Jung Eun, and Yoon Kyung Ho.

"My Daughter is a Zombie" is also currently showing in Indonesian theaters.
