Amole Air Plane Crashes into Portal Post at Central Papua Airport After Losing Control While Landing

PAPUA - Puncak Police Chief, Commissioner Mardi Marpaung, stated that an Amole Air plane with flight code PK-PPI caught fire at Aminggaru Airport, Ilaga, Central Papua, on Monday morning at around 9:42 a.m, Western Indonesia Time.

The PK-PPI plane, piloted by Andi Rezhar and engineer Amianus, was carrying mixed cargo.

"The incident occurred on Monday at around 9:42 a.m. WIT at Aminggaru Airport, Ilaga, Okumia District, Puncak Regency," Mardi Marpaung told Antara on Monday, August 25.

According to him, reports revealed the plane crashed due to a loss of control during landing, which resulted in it crashing into the Kopasgat Portal Post at Aminggaru Airport, Ilaga.

A joint team from the Kopasgat Task Force, the KP3, and the Aminggaru Airport UPBU managed to extinguish the flames.
