Sexual Harassment of 35 Children By A Man In Prabumulih South Sumatra, Arrested in His Hideout
JAKARTA - The South Sumatra Police Criminal Resort Unit team arrested a man named Rusdiono (44) who had sexual harassment of 35 boys in the local area and was very troubling to the community.
Prabumulih Police Chief AKP Abdul Rahman said the arrest of the perpetrator stemmed from a community report that his son was one of the victims of the perpetrator's pedophile actions based on post mortem evidence.
"From his confession, the perpetrator has committed same-sex acts to 35 children aged 8 to 14 years", he reported Antara, Tuesday, May 11, reported Antara.
The perpetrator had previously become a fugitive for fleeing from the Prabumulih area but was finally captured in his hideout in Water Ringki Village, Buah Pemacah South OKU District on Saturday, May 8.
According to him the perpetrator has been doing his heinous acts for many years and lured the victim with cigarettes, the perpetrator also excused his actions on the feeling of like-for-like with the victim.
However, police will still delve into the description of the perpetrators including the mode, location and children who have been victims of perpetrators spread across six sub-districts as well as the possibility of additional victims.
"Perpetrators are ensnared by Articles 81 and 82 of Law No. 35 of 2014 on Amendments to Law No. 23 of 2002 on Child Protection with the threat of 5 to 15 years in prison", he said.
Based on the findings of the case, AKP Abdul urged parents to be careful and always take care of their children because people like the perpetrators are still many and wander around looking for victims.
