Support 300 MSMEs Women, Amartha And Mandiri Capital Indonesia Hold Financial Literacy And Free Eye Examination

JAKARTA - The 2025 National Literacy and Financial Inclusion Survey notes that the financial literacy index in Central Java Province is at 66.46 percent. This figure is lower than the financial inclusion index which reached 80.51 percent. This finding shows that although the people of Central Java are quite active in using financial products and services, their understanding of how the work and risks of these products are still relatively low.

Responding to the need to increase financial literacy, Amartha as a digital financial service provider focused on rural communities, held a financial literacy class for women's MSME partners in Jepara, Friday, August 22. On this occasion, Amartha collaborated with PT Mandiri Capital Indonesia (MCI), a venture capital firm subsidiary of PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk, to strengthen education as well as provide eye health check services and distribute free glasses to more than 300 MSMEs assisted by users of the AmarthaFin application.

Amartha's Chief Risk and Sustainability Officer Aria Widyanto said that high financial transactions and easy access to digital finance need to be accompanied by knowledge and skills in managing finances.

"This activity is a form of risk mitigation as well as empowerment, so that MSME partners can understand the benefits and risks of using digital technology and are able to optimally utilize the AmarthaFin application to increase their independence and competitiveness," said Aria, in his statement, Sunday, August 24.

In line with Amartha's goal, MCI sees the importance of continuing to strengthen the digital financial ecosystem for MSMEs. This effort is expected to help partners to grow more empowered, maintain business continuity, while increasing trust in the digital financial ecosystem.

This activity entitled Merdeka Bersama: Beware of Fraud, Sehat Finansial is also enlivened by the typical August 17 competition which is full of mutual cooperation between participants. In addition to the financial literacy class, Amartha and MCI also facilitate glasses health checks and free eyewear distribution to support the productivity of fostered MSME partners. With this facility, it is hoped that partners can work more comfortably, improve accuracy in their business activities, and maintain the sustainability of their productivity.

"We believe that health is an important foundation in supporting the independence and productivity of female MSMEs. Through synergy with Amartha, we present eye examinations and the distribution of free glasses for 300 women MSME actors as a tangible manifestation of MCI's commitment to supporting sustainable development goals, people's economic growth, and healthy and productive female MSME entrepreneurs," said Ronald Simorangkir, President Director of MCI.

Nunuk Purwaningrum, one of the participants who attended expressed his appreciation. I am happy to be present at this activity. In addition to getting eye examinations and glasses that support daily work, I also learn how to avoid online financial fraud. I am equipped with how to manage business finances so as not to mix it with children's snacks, so that merchandise can continue to grow.

For information, Amartha cumulatively has distributed more than 35 trillion rupiah working capital to more than 3.3 million MSMEs in Indonesia, of which 90 percent are women. Serving the grassroots segment since 2010, Amartha has continued to grow by providing digital financial services ranging from funding, AmarthaLink's agency, to cash financing for MSMEs available in the AmarthaFin application.
