Highlights On The ILUNI UI E-vote System, Candidates Ask For A Digital Audit
JAKARTA - The election for the General Chair of ILUNI UI 2025-2028 has again drawn the spotlight.
A number of candidates submitted allegations of weaknesses in the UI Connect application-based e-voting system, and asked the election committee to conduct a comprehensive digital audit.
At least four winning teams officially protested, namely Muhammad Pradana Indraputra's team, Rapin Mudiardjo (No. 5), dr. Dewi Puspitorini (No. 6), and the couple Ivan Ahda & Andy Tirta.
In an official letter signed by Deny Giovanni, a member of the Muhammad Pradana Indraputra Campaign Team, his party highlighted a number of irregularities in the implementation of the e-vote which took place on August 23, 2025.
We found that there were individuals who did not have the right to vote, even were still students, but could still vote. In addition, there was an attack on the UI Connect server that interfered with the smoothness and security of the voting process. Many alumni also cannot exercise their voting rights due to technical problems," Deny said in a written statement.
He emphasized that the findings raised serious doubts over the validity of e-vote results.
Therefore, his party urged the committee to audit voter data, validity of choice, and the impact of cyber attacks, as well as postpone the announcement of election results until the audit is complete.
Rapin Mudiadjo assessed that the UI Connect system has not fully met the principles of reliability, data integrity, security, transparency, and equal access for all voters.
"We don't see any concrete steps from the committee to ensure the election takes place fairly and credible," he stressed.
dr. Dewi Puspitorini through her team sent an official subpoena, highlighting the alleged limited access to real-time data for witnesses and candidates, reports of cyber attacks, and technical problems experienced by a number of alumni.
He urged real-time dashboard access for all candidates and independent auditors involvement.
Ivan Ahda & Andy Tirta also asked for a digital forensic audit, after finding allegations of DDoS attacks from the first day of the e-vote, obstacles to compatibility of applications on iOS and Android, as well as indications of voter data that are considered unreasonable.
They also proposed delaying the closure of the e-vote until the audit process was complete.
Of all the candidates who objected, there was a common thread of demands, namely the need for an independent digital forensic audit, full transparency of the sound data and system activity, equal access for candidates, and delays in ratifying results until complete verification is carried out.
