GARUT - The West Java Province Education Office (Disdik) said that the results of the joint investigation concluded that there was no negligence in the school regarding the case of the death of a student at SMA Negeri 6 Garut Regency who ended his life by hanging himself.

"There is no negligence from the school," said Head of the West Java Province Education Office (KCD) Region XI Garut, Aang Karyana, when contacted by telephone, Antara, Sunday, August 24.

Aang said that the alleged bullying case, which was busy on social media, was handled quickly by the provincial and central governments by forming an investigation team.

According to him, the results of the investigation involving a number of agencies and conveyed openly by the Governor of West Java through the Youtube channel stated that there was no element of negligence by the school against the student.

"Yes, it's finished, as stated by the Governor and from the BKD," he said.

After the investigation was completed, the previously disabled Head of SMA Negeri 6 Garut to facilitate the investigation had returned to school. Teaching and learning activities at schools are also said to be running normally.

"It's normal to be normal again," said Aang.

He added that this incident became a lesson for all schools in the KCD area of West Java Education Region XI Garut to optimize the role of classroom teachers and counseling guidance.

Teachers must be more sensitive to students who need help, especially those who have special characters. That's the most important thing, inviting parents, having to work with parents," he said.

Previously, the case of the death of the students of SMA Negeri 6 Garut was busy on social media. Students are suspected of ending their lives at home, Monday (14/7/2025), due to bullying at school.

The government immediately conducted an investigation, including disabling school principals to facilitate inspections.
