Boosting The Tourism And Economic Sector, 30 InJourney Airports Officially Receive International Status

JAKARTA – PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (InJourney Airports) welcomes the international airport status designation for 30 airports in Indonesia, as stipulated in the Minister of Transportation Decree No. KM 37 of 2025 concerning the Designation of International Airports.

The regulation, which came into effect on August 8, 2025, designates 30 airports managed and operated by InJourney Airports as airports capable of serving scheduled commercial flights on international routes.

InJourney Airports President Director Mohammad R. Pahlevi stated that this policy further strengthens the role and position of InJourney Airports within the regional and global aviation ecosystem.

Pahlevi stated that the international status designation of 30 InJourney Airports will strengthen air connectivity and strengthen the airports' role as agents of development and value creators in relation to the equitable distribution of international aviation services in Indonesia.

"We are also optimistic that the implementation of this policy will have a positive impact on increasing passenger traffic and international flights to and from Indonesia. This is expected to have a positive multiplier effect on growth in the tourism, industry, trade, and national and regional economic sectors," he said in a statement, quoted on Sunday, August 24.

The 30 InJourney Airports airports designated as international airports in accordance with Minister of Transportation Decree No. KM 37 of 2025 concerning the Determination of International Airports are as follows:

1. Sultan Iskandar Muda Airport, Banda Aceh

2. Kualanamu Airport, Deli Serdang

3. Minangkabau Airport, Padang

4. Sultan Syarif Kasim II Airport, Pekanbaru

5. Hang Nadim Airport, Batam

6. Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Tangerang

7. Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, Jakarta

8. Kertajati International Airport, Majalengka, West Java

9. Yogyakarta International Airport, Kulon Progo

10. Juanda Airport, Surabaya

11. I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport, Bali

12. Zainuddin Abdul Madjid Airport, Lombok

13. Sultan Aji Muhammad Sulaiman Sepinggan Airport, Balikpapan

14. Sultan Hasanuddin Airport, Makassar

15. Sam Ratulangi Airport Manado

On the same occasion, InJourney Airports Operations Director Agus Haryadi stated that they are currently focusing on fulfilling document and infrastructure requirements at the airport.

"In addition to fulfilling the required documents and ensuring the infrastructure and facilities at the airport for international flight operations and services, we are also coordinating with stakeholders, including the Immigration Office, Customs and Excise, and Quarantine," he said.

Agus added that airlines are also required to explore and open international routes to InJourney Airports designated as international airports.

For additional information, throughout 2024, InJourney Airports served 38 million international passenger movements and 224,000 international aircraft movements.

The number of international route traffic in 2024 experienced significant growth compared to 2023, with passenger movements increasing by 22 percent and aircraft movements by 14 percent, respectively.

Meanwhile, for the period from January to July 2025, InJourney Airports recorded up to 23.3 million international passenger movements and 138,000 international aircraft movements, representing a 10 percent growth in passenger movements and a 9 percent growth in aircraft movements compared to traffic for the same period in 2024.
