The East Nusa Tenggara High Prosecutor's Office and a team of experts from the Ministry of Housing and Settlement Areas found a number of irregularities in the construction of 2,100 housing units for residents of former Timor-East fighters.

"From the results of the examination, several construction problems were found, including the foundations of houses in several units that still require further evaluation," said Head of the East Nusa Tenggara High Prosecutor's Office Zet Tadung Allo after reviewing the construction of 2,100 units for former Timor-East fighters in Kupang Regency, Saturday.

The review was carried out to ensure the quality and feasibility of special house construction to run according to the technical standards specified.

In addition, Kajati and the PKP team also found floors of houses that were uneven or tilted, as well as walls of houses that had cracks allegedly caused by ground movement around the location.

Not only that, Kajati also found that the installation of zinc roofs on several housing units had not fully complied with the technical standards set.

During the review, Kajati NTT also ensured the existence of public facilities in the form of water reservoirs built to support the needs of residents in the special housing area.

The three contractors working on the house construction project, namely PT Adhi Karya, PT Brantas, and PT Nindya Karya also accompanied the review process.

"The construction of this house is intended for people who have long awaited the certainty of their homes. Therefore, each unit must be built with the best quality in order to ensure the safety, comfort, and survival of the residents," he said.

Kajati NTT emphasized that the construction of 2,100 housing units for former Timor-East fighters was not only a technical issue of construction, but also a manifestation of the state's responsibility in fulfilling the basic rights of its citizens.
