Wamenaker Noel Suspect Of Extortion Of K3 Certification, Entrepreneur: It's Time For Anti-Corruption Curriculum To Be Taught Early

JAKARTA - Vice President Director of PT Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia (TMMIN), Bob Azam, stated that it is time for the anti-corruption curriculum to be taught from an early age to create a tough generation to prevent corruption cases.

This was conveyed by Bob in response to the stipulation of the Deputy Minister of Manpower (Wamenaker), Immanuel Ebenezer alias Noel, as a suspect in the case of extortion in the management of the Work Safety and Health Certificate (K3) by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

"It's time for us to think more significantly about efforts to eliminate corruption and be sustainable, namely by building an anti-corruption education curriculum from elementary school to college," Bob told VOI, Saturday, August 23, 2025.

According to Bob, by providing an anti-corruption curriculum from an early age, it is hoped that future generations can have a better understanding of corruption itself.

"If it is implemented from now on, maybe in 10-20 years we have a better generation in a better understanding of anti-corruption," he said.

Meanwhile, when asked whether the case would potentially disrupt the investment climate in Indonesia, Bob declined to comment.

Given, rampant corruption and weak law enforcement will create uncertainty in doing business and hinder the entry of capital flows into the country.

"I don't need to comment, it feels like everyone understands the impacts," he said.

Previously, Wamenaker Immanuel Ebenezer was officially named a suspect by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) in the case of extortion in the administration of the Work Safety and Health Certificate (K3), Friday, August 22, 2025.

With this determination, President Prabowo Subianto also fired Immanuel Ebenezer alias Noel from the position of Deputy Minister of Manpower (Wamenaker).

Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg), Prasetyo Hadi, explained that President Prabowo had signed a decree to dismiss Noel, Immanuel Ebenezer's nickname.

"Mr. President has signed the President's decision regarding the dismissal of Brother Immanuel Ebenezer from his position as Deputy Minister of Manpower."

"Furthermore, we submit the entire legal process to be carried out properly. We hope that this will be a lesson for all of us, especially for all members of the Red and White Cabinet and all government officials," said Prasetyo Hadi as quoted by Antara, Friday, August 22, 2025.

Prasetyo added that President Prabowo also warned all government officials to be serious in eradicating corruption.

"Once again, the President really wants us all to work hard, work hard in eradicating corruption," he said.
