Yemen's Houthis Fire Ballistic Missiles At Israel

JAKARTA - The Israeli military said the missiles launched from Yemen were most likely destroyed in the air after airstrike sirens sounded in several regions in Israel.

Yemen's Houthi militant group claimed responsibility for the attack.

Dilansir Reuters, Sabtu, 23 Agustus, juru bicara militer Houthi, Yahya Saree, mengatakan kelompoknya melakukan tiga operasi terhadap Israel termasuk menembakkan rudal balistik ke Bandara Ben Gurion di dekat Tel Aviv.

During Friday's attack, the air defense system made several attempts to intercept the missile. No injuries were reported, Israeli police said.

Groups affiliated with Iran, which controls the most populous territory in Yemen, often fire on Israel and attack shipping lines.

The Houthis have repeatedly said their attacks are a form of solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza.

Most of the dozens of missiles and drones they launch have been intercepted or failed. Israel then launched a series of counter-attacks.
