The Smuggling Of 90 Kg Of Marijuana At Bakauheni Port Was Dismantled, Drugs Were Put Into A Car On Towing

South Lampung Police uncovered the smuggling of 90.36 kilograms of marijuana at Bakauheni Port.

South Lampung Deputy Chief of Police, Kompol Made Silpa Yudiawan, explained that his team arrested RRD (31), a resident of Mandailing Natal, North Sumatra regarding the case.

"The smuggling attempt occurred on July 31 last, then we carried out developments and today a press conference was just held," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, August 22.

The perpetrator is known to have tried to trick the police by carrying 90 kilograms of marijuana which was put into a private car and lifted to the top, a special vehicle to transport other damaged or strike vehicles.

The suspect was carrying 90 packages of marijuana with a gross weight of 90.36 kilograms hidden in four large boxes in the Toyota Calya car. The mode is that the vehicle that has been loaded with marijuana is lifted onto the towing car to trick the officers," he said.

Based on calculations, he said, the confiscated evidence had an economic value of Rp. 270 million.

Based on the perpetrator's statement, the marijuana is planned to be brought from Mandailing Natal to Tangerang by land.

"Currently, the suspect and the evidence have been secured for further investigation, while another perpetrator is still being chased," he said.
