Coordinating Minister Airlangga Agrees KUR For MSME Production Sector Plus
Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto agreed that the quota for people's business loans (KUR) for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) was added. Especially for the production sector.
"Earlier, the Minister of MSMEs (Maman Abdurrahman) had said that production or industry should continue to be encouraged and the level of utilization of KUR for the production sector to be increased. So I just agree with Mr. Maman," said Airlangga at the People's Party for Indonesia, at the Smesco Indonesia Building, Jakarta, Friday, August 22.
Airlangga explained that the quota for KUR was actually not limited as long as there was still room to use. He also said the government added Rp20 trillion for the long-term investment sector.
"So the quota is added, actually the quota is unlimited. As long as it can still be utilized and yesterday we even added long-term investments for the industrial sector up to Rp20 trillion," he said.
"That maybe Mr. Maman can also encourage labor-intensive industries, including food and beverages, including labor-intensive industries," he continued.
Meanwhile, MSME Minister Maman Abdurrahman revealed that the realization of MSME KUR to the production sector has reached 60.3 percent. He said the figure was guaranteed to be consistent by the end of the year.
Therefore, Maman also proposed an additional target for the MSME production side KUR to be 65 percent.
"Alhamdulillah, until today, the allocation of approximately Rp. 300 trillion, 60.3 percent has been allocated for the production sector. If by the end of the year we are consistent that we can distribute 60 percent, I think the Coordinating Minister, please allow the target for the allocation of KUR production, we will increase it at 63 or 65 percent," he said.

According to Maman, the addition of targets for the production sector KUR above 60 percent will create layered effects ranging from employment to economic impacts.
"I think this is important, because if we allocate KUR 60 percent to the production sector, there are also many multiplier effects, employment, economic impact effects and so on," said Maman.
