Allegedly Asking For IDR 8 Million For Medical Devices, ASN Doctor RSUDAM Targeted By Lampung Inspectorate
The Lampung Provincial Inspectorate is investigating allegations of maladministration involving a state civil servant (ASN) doctor at Abdul Moeloek Regional General Hospital (RSUDAM), Bandar Lampung.
Assistant Inspector of Regional V Inspectorate of Lampung Province, Sahat Paulus Naipospos, said that his party was collecting data and tracing the root of the alleged illegal levies (extortion) case that dragged the doctor.
"We are currently investigating data as well as looking for the root cause of the incident that occurred at the RSUDAM," Sahat said when confirmed, Antara, Friday, August 22.
According to Sahat, the investigation is the basis for determining whether the ASN person violates the rules, and if proven, disciplinary sanctions will be given.
"Because of its status as ASN, sanctions will be given according to the staffing regulations, ranging from the lightest to the hardest," he said.
Although he has not been able to make a decision, Sahat emphasized that if there are indications of extortion, especially in the form of transactions to personal accounts, strict sanctions cannot be avoided.
This case arose after a two-month-old baby from South Lampung died after undergoing surgery at the RSUDAM. The patient was previously treated for Hirschsprung's congenital disorder, namely a congenital disorder in the large intestine which caused difficulty defecating.
The operation was carried out on Monday, August 19. However, prior to medical action, the doctor in charge was said to have provided an option to purchase medical devices worth Rp. 8 million. The payment of the device did not go through the hospital's official account, but was transferred to the doctor's personal account.
After the operation, the baby's condition was said to have not improved and was finally declared dead.
The Lampung Provincial Government through the Inspectorate stated that it would immediately convey the results of the investigation after the entire search process was completed. The main focus now is tracing the potential for administrative and ethical violations in the medical practice.
