Guehi's Future At Crystal Palace Is Still Uncertain, Club Leaders Are Still Bimbang
JAKARTA - Marc Guehi's future at Crystal Palace is still uncertain. The Chairman of The Eagles, Steve Parish, and Manager Oliver Glasner have not been able to confirm that he will stay at Selhurst Park.
ESPN reported earlier this month that Liverpool had opened talks with Crystal Palace over Guehi, with the southern London club expecting a fee of around 30 million pounds (approximately IDR 658 billion) plus 5 million pounds.
Liverpool are still looking for additional defenders after Jarell Quansah joined Bayer Leverkusen and Joe Gomez is still recovering from minor injuries.
Parish provided the latest information about Guehi's situation on Friday, August 22, 2025 WIB, after Palace won 1-0 over Fredrikstad FK in the first leg of the Playoff UEFA Conference League.
"If Marc Guehi wants to sign a contract, he can survive. If he doesn't, we have to consider it."
"It's a difficult situation, everyone has to sell players to obey the rules. Players who leave on a free transfer isn't an ideal situation."
"That's the situation we have to consider in the next few days," Parish told Channel 5.

Crystal Palace manager, Glasner, also gave his views at post-match press conferences, joking about the lack of club transfer activity.
"We were very, very late to find a replacement. I think we should have been able to play much better."
"This is not the best way to start the season. I think we are below the limits of our ability. If Marc (Guehi) leaves, maybe I will try my shoes because I used to be a centre-back."
"We have to act. This is Crystal Palace's future and we need to add players. I just know if Marc leaves and is not available to Frederikstad, we will get into big trouble."
"It's pretty clear. We can't register anyone. So, from my side, he has to defend," said Glasner.
Glasner's comments came as star midfielder Eberechi Eze, who did not play on the Playoff UEFA Conference League, one step away from completing his 67.5 million Arsenal move to Arsenal.
The Crystal Palace manager confirmed that Eze would no longer appear for his team.
"I have to apologize to all of you because I didn't tell the truth yesterday. I think he will play."
"He called me and said he wasn't feeling well. You have to ask him (why), maybe in a few days. No (I don't think he's not going to play for the club anymore)," Glasner told a news conference after the game.
