Meta Data Center In Kansas City Officially Operates, Ready To Serve Data Traffic
JAKARTA - Meta's newest data center in Kansas City, Missouri, which represents an investment of US$1 billion (Rp16 trillion) in the state, is now officially operating and serving data traffic.
Since it started work in 2022, Meta says that this data center is the company's new node in global infrastructure that brings its technology and services to life, allowing billions of people around the world to stay connected.
"We chose Kansas City because it has excellent infrastructure, reliable power grids, strong labor resources for construction and operational work, as well as outstanding community partners," said Brad Davis, Director of the Meta Center for Economic Data and Development Community.
The Kansas City Data Center represents an investment of more than $1 billion in the state of Missouri, with most construction materials sourced from the US.
In addition, Meta has also disbursed more than $1 million for nonprofit schools and organizations in Clay County, Platte County, and Kansas City, Missouri.
The Kansas City Data Center has even obtained LEED Gold certification, meaning the data center meets high standards in energy efficiency, water conservation, supply chain responsibility, and recycling.
Like all Meta data centers, the use of electricity at the Kansas City Data Center is supplied 100% of clean and renewable energy. Meta also prioritizes water management, adopting much more efficient cooling technologies than industry standards.
