Unidentified Elderly Found Dead In Kramat Jati's New River Flow

JAKARTA - An elderly man was found dead by the current in the New River, Jalan Raya Bogor, Kramat Jati, East Jakarta, Thursday, August 21, 2025.

The incident attracted the attention of a number of residents and passing motorists. A number of people continue to crowd to find out the identity of the victim.

"Initially it was seen that a body was swept away in the river flow, when it was checked it turned out to be a corpse," said Alter (48), a resident around the location.

Then the discovery of the body was reported to the Kramat Jati Police. Meanwhile, the East Jakarta Metro Police identification team who arrived at the location immediately conducted a crime scene investigation.

Officers also identified the victim's body. The death toll is estimated to be 60 years old.

However, when they were found and searched, officers did not find an identity on the victim's body.

Furthermore, the victim's body was evacuated to the Kramat Jati Police Hospital, East Jakarta.
