Adjie Soetama, Song Creator Hip Hip Hura Dies
JAKARTA - Sad news came from the music world. Musician and songwriter, Adjie Soetama reportedly passed away today, Thursday, August 21, 2025.
From the family's statement, it was revealed that the deceased had a heart attack on Sunday. He was then treated at the Jakarta RSCM before he died today at 19.40 WIB.
"Innalillahi wainnailaihi roji'un. Has passed away to rahmatullah: Bp. Adjie Sasongko Soetama bin Soetama," wrote the family through a message received by VOI, August 21.
It is planned that the body will be buried on Friday, August 22 after Friday prayers at the Tanah Kusir TPU Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta.

Adjie Soetama is one of the songwriters who scored a series of popular hits in the 80s. He has worked with Chrisye several times with songs he wrote, including Hip Hip Hura and Aku Cinta Dia who became popular songs from the past.
Born on September 17, 1957, Adjie Sasongko Soetama bin Soetama has been fond of music since school. His musical persistence marked his name as one of the legendary Indonesian composers.
