5.5 M Earthquake Shakes Talaud Islands North Sulawesi, No Tsunami Potential
JAKARTA - An earthquake of magnitude 5.5 shook northwest Melonguane, Talaud Islands, North Sulawesi, Tuesday at 00.25.57 western Indonesia time.
The official website of the Bureau of Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics says the epicenter was at 5.65 LU—126.43 East Longitude or 185 km Northwest of Melonguane with a depth of 185 km.
The earthquake was not potentially a tsunami. However, BMKG warns against potential aftershocks that could occur.
