Ports In Turkey Reject Israel's Affiliated Military Cargo Transport Ship

JAKARTA - Port authorities in Turkey have begun implementing informal policies stating that ships docked are not linked to Israel.

The rules include the rejection of military cargo transport ships to support Israeli military annexation in the Palestinian territories.

This was conveyed by two Turkish shipping sources to Reuters, Thursday, August 21.

Sources said ships docked at Turkish ports could provide official guarantees regarding the cargo they were transporting did not violate the rules.

The warrant must state that the ship's owners, managers and operators have no ties to Israel, and that certain types of cargo, including explosives and radioactive or military equipment, are not on board on their way to Israel.

Sources also said the port head's office in Turkey had instructed port agencies verbally to provide written guarantees, adding that there was no official circular regarding this matter.

One source said the instructions apply to ports throughout Turkey.
