Italy Arrests Ukrainians For Nord Stream Pipe Attack
JAKARTA - Italian police reportedly arrested a Ukrainian man suspected of coordinating the attack on the Nord Stream pipelines. The perpetrators will be brought before a German judge after being transferred.
Considered by Russia and the West as acts of sabotage, no one has ever claimed responsibility for an explosion that damaged pipes that flowed gas from Russia to Europe in September 2022.
As reported by Reuters on Thursday, August 21, the suspect identified only as Serhi K was part of a group of people who installed devices on a pipeline network near Bornholm Island, Germany, in September 2022, according to a statement from the prosecutor's office.
He and his colleagues departed from Rostock on the northeastern coast of Germany on a cruise ship to carry out the attack.

Authorities are following up on European arrest warrants for suspects, who are facing collusion charges to cause explosions, anti-constitutional sabotage, and building destruction.
Carabinieri officers arrested him last night in Rimini province on the coast of Italy's Adriatics, according to a German prosecutor's statement.
Italian police have yet to give a statement.
