Russia Launches Missiles In The Sea Of Japan During Exercise

JAKARTA - Russia's Pacific Fleet launched cruise and anti-ship missiles during exercises in the Sea of Japan which also involved aircraft and drones.

"The missiles of Kalibr and Uran were fired by the Marshal Shaposhnikov frigate in the Japanese Sea, and the sailors managed to hit their targets," the Russian Defense Ministry said.

"The maneuvers are carried out by ships belonging to the Pacific Fleet, as well as naval aircraft and unmanned aircraft belonging to the fleet," he said.

The Ministry of Defense released footage of a frigate launching a missile.

Reuters reported earlier this month there was an increasing desire in Japan to relax its decades-long promise not to produce, own, or store nuclear weapons in its territory known as the "Three Non-Nuclear Principles".
