Deputy Minister of Manpower Noel Caught in a Sting Operation, Palace: Stage 4 Corruption
JAKARTA - Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi stated that the government will intensify its efforts to remind state officials not to engage in corruption.
This was conveyed in connection with the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK)'s sting operation (OTT) against Deputy Minister of Manpower Immanuel Ebenezer, also known as Noel.
Noel is suspected of extortion in the processing of occupational safety and health (K3) certification.
"Yes, of course, this incident will, perhaps, intensify our efforts to remind all levels of government, not just the cabinet," Prasetyo Hadi told reporters on Thursday, August 21.
According to him, the sting operation against Noel proves that corruption is rampant. If we compare it to a disease, it is considered to be in a severe condition, or stage four.
"This once again proves that corruption has reached stage four, an advanced stage," he said.
Therefore, the government will continue to intensify its efforts to remind all levels of government not to engage in corruption. In fact, from the beginning, President Prabowo has frequently reminded people to support the eradication of corruption, which is one of his programs.
"That applies not only to state officials, but to everyone. That's our big homework," said Prasetyo Hadi.
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) conducted a sting operation (OTT) and arrested Deputy Minister of Manpower Immanuel Ebenezer on the evening of Wednesday, August 20th.
"(The sting operation was related to) extortion of companies related to K3 certification," said KPK Deputy Chairman Fitroh Rohcahyanto.
From the series of sting operations, the KPK found money, dozens of cars, and even a Ducati motorcycle. Two of the vehicles were already at the KPK's Merah Putih building in Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta.
"There was definitely money, dozens of cars, and a Ducati motorcycle," said Fitroh.
