Prabowo Regrets Deputy Minister of Manpower's Sting Operation: Told Over and Over Not to Corrupt
JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto expressed deep regret over the alleged involvement of Deputy Minister of Manpower (Wamenaker), Immanuel Ebenezer, also known as Noel, in a corruption case.
Immanuel Ebenezer was caught in a sting operation (OTT) conducted by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). Noel is suspected of extortion in the processing of occupational safety and health (K3) certification.
"I already said that, yes, it's regrettable. It's regrettable, even though we've been reminded repeatedly," said Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi to reporters on Thursday, August 21.
All members of the Red and White Cabinet, including Noel, have been repeatedly reminded to support corruption eradication as one of President Prabowo's programs.
"The President has repeatedly stated that one of our main programs and intentions is to work hard to eradicate criminal acts of corruption, which of course must start with government officials," he said.
Furthermore, Prabowo also frequently tells cabinet members to maintain the spirit of eradicating corruption and to make statements that do not cause public unrest.
"So, the President constantly reminds us of these two things as part of a warning to all of us," said Prasetyo Hadi.
