Errani/Vavassori Keep The Title At The US Open 2025, Donate Swiatek/Ruud
JAKARTA - Two Italian players, Sara Errani and Andrea Vavossori, ended their work in the US Open 2025 mixed doubles championship by defeating third seed Iga Swiatek and Casper Ruud in the stunning final, 6-3, 5-7, (10-6), at Arthur Ashe Stadium, Thursday, August 21, 2025, morning WIB.
This victory not only marked the successive title at Flushing Meadows for the Italian pair, but also added to the collection of Grand Slam titles the year after the 2025 Roland Garros trophy.
"We did something amazing in these two years (together). I have to say thank you for your energy on the pitch. Playing with you like family," Vavassori said during the trophy handover ceremony, before greeting his partner.
Errani/Vavassori performed brilliantly just 20 minutes after winning the semifinal match the night before against Danielle Collins/Christian Harrison.

The crowd that packed Ashe highlighted the success and appeal of the new mixed doubles format which was held for two days (19-20 August 202) which ended with the most exciting match in this tournament.
Errani/Vavassori seem to be advancing to defend their title after breaking Swiatek services in the seventh game of the second set to lead 4-3.
The advantages increased to 5-3, but then Swiatek/Ruud won the last four games of the set, breaking the Italian pair's serve in two consecutive serve games after the reigning champions faced a break point in all previous matches.
In the tiebreak of the match, Errani/Vavassori won the first four points. Once again, it looks like they will advance towards victory because both of them continue to rise after each point is achieved.
However, Swiatek/Ruud did not give up, winning four of the next five points to reduce the gap to 4-5.
Undauntedly, Errani/Vavassori never lost the advantage they built at the start of the tiebreak of the match. The Italian pair's emotions came after winning points.
Vavossori raised Errani into the air before he shed tears as they embraced.
"I really enjoy playing with you guys. I'm very happy to be with you. It always feels special. We share these unforgettable moments, so I'm very happy to be able to share with you," said Errani.
The champion will be awarded US $ 1 million along with the US Open 2025 trophy.
