Russian Attack Hits American Electronic Factory In Ukraine
JAKARTA - Russian airstrikes last night killed one person and injured 18 people. The attack also hit a US electronics plant in western Ukraine.
The missile attack injured 15 people and destroyed a storage facility at the factory in the city of Mukachevo, said emergency services and local authorities in the western Zakarpattia region.
National television shows the regional governor, Myroslav Biletskyi, standing near a smoke-covered building. According to Biletskyi, the factory produces consumer electronic goods.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha condemned the attack in a post on X.
"Public facilities are completely unrelated to defense or military," he said.
"This is not the first Russian attack on American businesses in Ukraine, after attacks on Boeing offices in Kyiv earlier this year and other attacks," he continued.
In the city of Lviv, western Ukraine, the attack killed one person, injured three others, and damaged 26 houses, according to Maksym Governor Kozytskyi.
The Ukrainian Air Force said Russia used 574 unmanned aircraft (drones) and 40 missiles in an overnight attack on the country, which was the largest attack so far in August.
"This is why efforts to force Russia to end the war are so important," Sybiha said.
