Pol Espargaro Replaces Maverick Vinales In MotoGP Hungary 2025

JAKARTA Red Bull KTM Tech3 announced that Pol Espargaro's test racer will replace Maverick Vinales in the Hungarian MotoGP 2025 race this weekend.

The race in Hungary, which is the calendar 14th series of the season, will take place at the Balaton Park Circuit on August 22-24, 2025. This marks the return of MotoGP to the country after 33 years of absence.

Vinales certainly could not participate in a quick battle on the track because he still suffered a shoulder injury due to an accident in the German MotoGP Qualification on July 13, 2025.

The injury forced him to miss the race at the Czech Sachsenring and MotoGP at the Brno Circuit. He then recovered during the summer holidays and returned to the Austrian MotoGP last weekend.

Unfortunately, Vinales couldn't hold back the pain, so he decided to step down. His condition was not yet 100 percent so KTM chose to reduce Espargaro.

"It's hard for Maverick to miss another race, but we see in Austria that he needs more time to recover," Espargaro was quoted as saying on the official MotoGP website.

Espargaro has previously undergone trials at Balaton Park. This can certainly be a valuable asset for the KTM team in an effort to continue the momentum after the good results at the Red Bull Ring.

He also recently helped the Tech3 squad to finish ninth in the Czech MotoGP while replacing Vinales. So, it's interesting to look forward to KTM's work this weekend amid the dominance of Marc Marquez.

"I'm happy to be able to help the team and manufacturers again with this weekend's race. As usual, this will provide added value to our behind-the-scenes work and in racing," Espargaro said.

KTM menikmati peningkatan performa akhir-akhir ini melalui keberhasil Pedro Acosta mencapai podium ganda di MotoGP Czech dan kembali menyelesaikan di posisi tiga besar dalam Sprint Race MotoGP Austria.

However, Marc Marquez, who has performed solidly so far, will again be seeded at Balaton Park later. The Spaniard is currently leading the top of the standings with a collection of 418 points.

He is far ahead 142 points from his younger brother Alex Marquez in second place and 197 points from his Ducati Lenovo Team team-mate Francesco Bagnaia, who is in third place.
