Caught Stealing Gold Ginting, Waria Busker Beaten By Tanjung Priok Residents

JAKARTA - A female and male appearance busker (warian) was arrested by residents for stealing gold earrings belonging to a girl who was playing on Jalan Enim 1, RW 02, Sungai Bambu Village, Tanjung Priok District, North Jakarta.

The Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Tanjung Priok Police, AKP Hamdam Samudro, said that the incident began in the afternoon when the perpetrator with the initials DI rested and saw several children playing with him.

Due to the quiet situation, there was no adult supervision around the children playing, the perpetrator then persuaded the victim to braid the hair of one of the girls wearing earrings.

"While braiding his hair, the perpetrator took off and took the girl's earrings," said AKP Hamdam when confirmed, Thursday, August 21.

One of the residents who saw the perpetrator's actions immediately reported the incident to the victim's parents. When the girl was asked by her parents, she said that her earrings were taken by the perpetrator.

Angry residents immediately arrested the perpetrator and searched him. When examined, officers found earrings belonging to one of the girls. The perpetrator then took a blow from local residents.

Bhabinkamtibmas, who received reports from residents, immediately headed to the scene and secured the perpetrators to be taken to the Tanjung Priok Police.

"Evidence of a pair of gold earrings weighing approximately 1 gram has been taken back by the owner," he said.
