Tom Morello Reflects On Cancellation Of The Rage Against The Machine Tour And Possible Comebacks In The Future

Tom Morello has again reflected on the condition of the Rage Against The Machine (RATM) in 2022, where they were forced to cancel the rest of the concert tours in England and Europe.

Meanwhile, a tour with the title 'Public Service Announcement Tour' begins in Wisconsin, USA on July 9, 2022, and is planned to continue until April 2023.

Of the 51 shows scheduled, RATM was only able to complete 19 shows in the US, with the rest of the show canceled.

Morello revealed that his condition before the tour was not good enough. Despite facing serious obstacles, the tour is still ongoing.

Ironically, ahead of the tour, my Achilles tendon was torn. So I train in kruk," said Morello, citing an interview with Chicago radio station Q101 via NME, Thursday, August 21.

"It feels like I'm going to have open heart surgery on stage and won't cancel the show. The show must keep going," he continued.

But on the other hand, the condition of the vocalist, Zack de la Rocha, who suffered an injury, made things worse, until finally the tour had to stop.

"So, Zack is in very good condition," said the 61-year-old guitarist.

"Everyone is doing their best to make this happen. And sometimes it just happens. And he has an Achilles tendon injury, and it's like he saw my journey with the injury," he added. And we finished our last US tour sadly canceled all other events after that.

Furthermore, Morello discussed the possibility of RATM returning to appear on stage in the future, where it is likely to be very volatile.

"Rage Against The Machine has always been a rather volatile situation. The fact that we got four great recordings, the fact that we played in 2022 and the new generation got ... Even when (Zack) sat on those shows, they were some of the best Rage Against The Machine shows we ever did and really touched people's hearts," Morello said.

"We ended it with five nights tickets selling out at Madison Square Garden. So if there's no other show, then it's a pretty incredible way to end it," he continued. "But in the meantime, I pray in my heart and wish I die, I bring a torch to every riff and all the meaning in those songs and other things I've experienced. Music means a lot to me, and about what it means a lot."
