Minister Of Industry Agus About Giving Electric Motor Incentives This Year: Wait For The Coordinating Minister For The Economy's Answer
JAKARTA - The government has yet to announce the amount of electricity motor incentives this year. Entering the last four months in 2025, the subsidy of electric motorcycles is still unclear and is a waiting for business actors.
Related to this, the Minister of Industry (Menperin) Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita also opened her voice. He himself could not confirm how much and waited for an answer from the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto.
"I am still waiting for an answer from the Coordinating Ministry for Economics," said Agus briefly when met by reporters after the Annual Indonesia Green Industry Summit 2025 2nd (AIGIS) at JCC, Wednesday, August 20.
Not much information was provided by the Minister of Industry regarding the incentives for electric motorcycles.
Meanwhile, at the end of April 2025, Deputy Minister of Industry (Wamenperin) Faisol Riza also revealed the reason the government has not announced the incentives for electric motorcycles.
According to him, one of the reasons for the suspension of subsidies was due to the policy of the reciprocal rate of the President of the United States (US) Donald Trump.
"Because there is a process of Trump's tariff, which then makes us have to be pending temporarily," said Faisol when met by media crews at his office, Monday, April 28.
However, Faisol still ensures that the provision of electricity motor subsidies will continue this year. "But, it will continue," he added.
To note, the Government through the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) has set various conditions for submitting electric motor subsidies as regulated in the Regulation of the Minister of Industry (Permenperin) Number 21 of 2023.

The regulation is a revision of Permenperin Number 6 of 2023 which regulates guidelines for government assistance for the purchase of two-wheeled battery-based electric vehicles (KBLBB).
A subsidy of IDR 7 million is given for one ID card, which means each individual can only apply for a subsidy once. The policy reflects government support in accelerating the development of electric motors in Indonesia as part of the clean energy transition.
In the 2024 subsidy program, the government allocated 200,000 units of new electric motors and 50,000 units of conversion motors with a total budget of IDR 1.75 trillion. The quota is planned to continue to increase to reach 1 million units by 2024 and is likely to be further expanded this year.
