Fake Shaman Mastermind Behind The Murder Of Couples In Pemalang Arrested, Victim Poisoned By Coffee Is A Bit Non-Corruption

SEMARANG The Directorate of General Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimum) of the Central Java Police succeeded in uncovering a case of murder of a couple in Pemalang which had caused a commotion among residents. It turned out that the culprit was a fake shaman from Tegal who had been imprisoned for a similar case.

Dirreskrimum Kombes Pol Dwi Subagio explained that the victim named Muhammad Rosikhi and his wife, Nur Azzizah Turokhmah, died of poisoning.

The two were found dead in a pile of stones in Kali berat, Warungpring District, Pemalang, on Sunday, August 10, 2025.

The perpetrator, Iskandar (63), planned his action by pretending to invite the victim to perform a ritual. In the ritual, he served coffee that had been mixed with poison.

"The perpetrator wanted to kill the victim's life so that he would no longer collect debts from him. In addition, he also took two cellphones belonging to the victim," said Kombes Dwi in a written statement received by VOI, Wednesday, August 20, 2025.

Surprisingly, Iskandar is not new. He was sentenced to 20 years in prison in Nusakambangan in 2004 for a similar case. In fact, after being released, he had tried to do coffee poison again. Luckily, the victim was suspicious and managed to survive at that time.

For his actions, the suspect was charged with Article 340 of the Criminal Code regarding premeditated murder and/or Article 338 of the Criminal Code concerning murder. The threat of punishment is severe: death penalty or life imprisonment.

The Head of Public Relations of the Central Java Police, Kombes Pol Artanto, reminded the public to be aware of the practice of shamanism that offers unreasonable things. Don't believe it easily, let alone give up property or follow risky rituals. It could be, it could actually endanger lives," he said.
