Shindy Huang is Challenged to Play Mother Role in Catatan Hati Seorang Istri Series

JAKARTA - Shindy Huang is taking on a new role in her latest series, Catatan Hati Seorang Istri (Notes of a Wife's Heart). This series is a remake of her 2014 soap opera.

Shindy Huang plays Naomi, a wife who experiences domestic violence from her husband. She admitted that playing a mother was a challenge.

"Filming started in April, but when I first heard about Naomi, it was immediately difficult. In short, Naomi is the wife of Daniel (played by Emil Kusumo) and they have a son named Rafan," said Shindy Huang at a press conference in South Jakarta on Wednesday, August 20.

"I think the role of Naomi is very challenging. I was greatly helped by Sondang (the director), who knew what he wanted to do," she explained.

Furthermore, Shindy explained that the character of Naomi was challenging to play, considering she has never been married.

"It was very difficult because, as Sondang said, I'm not married, but I got the role of domestic violence. Naomi always keeps to herself, is very gentle, and that's very unlike me," she said.

"The approach isn't too different from preparing other projects. I usually read the script to understand the perspective," said Shindy.

The series "Notes of a Wife's Heart" tells the story of Hanna (Naysilla Mirdad) and Pram (Baskara Mahendra), who live a perfect married life, until betrayal occurs between them. The series also stars Audya Ananta, Amanda Rigby, Emil Kusumo, Shindy Huang, and others.

The series "Notes of a Wife's Heart" will be released on August 22nd.
